Dana 10. lipnja 2026. godine učenici 2.F razreda sudjelovali su u edukativnoj radionici “The Art of the Spiral Garden“.
The Art of the Spiral Garden – Workshop in English Language Class
On 10 June 2026, the students of class 2.F participated in an educational workshop entitled “The Art of the Spiral Garden.” The workshop was held as part of their English language lessons.
At the beginning of the workshop, the students, together with their teacher Andrea Sertić, discussed the purpose of a spiral garden. They explained what a spiral garden is, what microclimates are, and how the spiral design can make efficient use of a small space for growing different types of plants. It was explained that different parts of the garden provide different growing conditions, ranging from sunny and dry areas to moist and shaded ones.
During the workshop, the students discussed the importance of sustainable gardening, biodiversity, and urban food production. Special attention was given to the process of building a spiral garden and selecting suitable plants for the different sections of the spiral.
After the theoretical part, the students went to the school garden, where they were tasked with drawing their own vision of a spiral garden. They demonstrated great creativity and imagination in designing the garden layout, plant arrangement, and overall appearance.
At the end of the activity, the three best drawings were selected, and the first place was awarded to Petra Kovačec from class 2.F for her original and highly detailed spiral garden design.
The workshop was successful – it enabled the students to gain new knowledge about sustainable gardening, ecology, and creative landscape planning.
