The first meeting of the STEM geniuses project partners

The first meeting of partners in the STEM geniuses project took place in our school on 16th November, 2015. Present were Ivan Samardžić, the dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod together with project associates Dražen Kozak, prof. and Marinko Stojkov. prof; Ljiljana Ptačnik, headmistress of Gimnazija Nova Gradiška grammar school as well as the representatives of our school - Goran Zavor, headmaster and Ines Martinović, project leader. Among the present were also Lidija Vukojević, Ana Crnac and Lidija Blažević from the Eko Brezna Association who participated in the preparation of the project and will continue to participate in the implementation of the project as technical support.

The guests were greeted by Goran Zavor, the headmaster of Gimnazija "Matija Mesić" grammar school. The representatives of partner institutions also greeted everyone present and expressed thanks for being given the opportunity to participate in the implementation of the STEM geniuses project.

The partners were informed about their roles in the project. The importance of participating in the development of elective curriculums within the STEM areas and ICT was emphasised. In addition to participating in curriculum development, the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod (partner) will play an extremely important role in forming a STEM club and promoting competencies within the area of STEM.

All the activities to be carried out as part of the project which are organised according to the elements of the project were presented and the provisional implementation dates were defined. The activities which were planned for the first three months of the project and that have to do with organising the introductory conference which will take place on 21st December, 2015 at 11 o'clock were presented to partners in detail.
